Shall we start from the bottom? I don’t know about you, but I am precious about my bottom and the toilet paper I use!

It is a debatable topic but is 1 ply toilet roll good enough for your customers, possibly not if your clientele is discerning. They may not even like the 2-ply upgrade, only used to the very best of 3-ply in their homes.

What Effect Is Toilet Paper Having on Our Environment - Should we use recycled paper?

The use of toilet paper is harming our planet, but most of us tend not to think about it. At the very most, it may have just crossed our minds.

On average, each of us uses around one hundred rolls per year. Times that by the 67 million people who live in the UK, that’s a lot of toilet roll!

The degrading of toilet paper may take longer than you think. In most cases, it can take as little as one month to completely degrade, however, in the wrong conditions it could take anywhere from one to three years to fully decompose, depending on differing considerations such as:

• Thickness of the paper



• Availability of water



• Exposure to weather conditions

Biodegradable toilet paper products are all intended to break down quicker than your standard soft toilet rolls.

And if we remember what it’s made from, then that’s a lot of trees being cut down!

For business keen to promote their environmental responsibility and sustainability, the recycled toilet rolls are always a winner and represent great value too.

Using an item that can biodegrade, might seem like it doesn’t make a difference, but it really does. Any item that we can reuse or lowers the environmental impact we as humans have created is brilliant and must be encouraged.

Unfortunately, recycled paper isn’t often soft, thick or white enough for our customers which makes it less desirable.
